An Arab with No Time for Hate

Anis (ah-NEECE) Shorrosh could easily have been a member of a Palestinian extremist group, slaughtering athletes, invading kibbutzim, and holding women and children hostage. He still remembers his days as one of over a million lajieen, displaced Palestinians--Arabs born and raised in Palestine--refugees in Jordan and other Arab lands.

His father and cousin were killed in the Israeli capture of Nazareth, their ancestral home, and the family fled to Jordan. For the young Palestinian the years became full of bitter frustration and plotting revenge.

Then something happened to Anis. Despair turned to hope, thoughts of vengeance to love for his enemies. Jesus, the One who had made Anis' hometown famous, transformed his life.

Today the Palestinian Arab, who could have become a vengeful commando, is a dramatic international spokesman for the redeeming, reconciling love of Jesus, who alone can bring Arab and Jew together.
